Disaster Management workshop
IEEE MOVE Outreach India’s activities continue with full speed. One of its key objectives is disaster awareness, as a preventive and precautionary measure for its disaster relief program.
Following the STEM toolkit launch and training in July and several Train-the-Trainer programs for disaster awareness, three programs were conducted recently.
A Disaster Management workshop was held for school children during the IEEE TENSYMP 2024
conference held at Delhi during September 27-29 2024 conference. About 30 students
participated in the event along with Dr.Prerna Gaur, India Council Chair Elect 2025. This is part of
the continuing programs for school children planned around India.

Ms Sadahan Attavar, Chair of the MOVE India program and Vice Chair of the HTB India Council.
delivered two talks raising awareness of disaster management and the impact of Climate Change
as well as highlighting the role the MOVE India program is playing in this area. The first talk was a
part of the IEEE WIE International Leadership Summit held in Delhi on August 10th and 11th. This
was also graced by Mr. Deepak Mathur, VP of IEEE MGA. The second talk was at the Oxford
Engineering College in Bangalore, as a part of the IEEE Day celebrations. Several hundred
students benefited from these talks. These talks serve not just to increase awareness but also to
heighten awareness of MOVE India to these students, many of whom are potential volunteers.
